The fundamental basis of your argument is that invading Iraq was only justified if Saddam posed an imminent threat. The fundamental basis of your argument is flawed. That's why the argument never goes anywhere. That's why you, Jacob, etc. keep twirling yourselves into knots.

We didn't invade Iraq because the threat was imminent. We invaded Iraq because the threat was grave enough that waiting for an imminent attack was insane.

For decades, I've read news reports of terrorist training camps being run by state sponsors of terrorism, with alarm bells going off in my head, wondering why nobody ever tried to stop them. I, for one, am glad that we've decided to end state sponsorship of terrorism.

Other states are dangerous, as well, and will be dealt with in turn. It's not over.
