No doubt Saddam was a bloody dictator. Still, it annoys me to see that "He was killing Iraqis, so we were right in invading Iraq" is an argument some people can make with a straight face, despite the fact that the bulk of his killing spree took place during the period when he was best buddies with the US.

The invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with saving poor little Iraqis from Saddam. I wish people would stop pretending it did, and start asking the real questions. Like, "Where are all those 'tons and tons' of WMDs?", "What did we really invade Iraq for?", and "Why did our own administration lie to take the country to war?"

The day might still come. Hope springs eternal :-)
