the thing is, it is pretty easy to see why Dean is appealing and that is his direct commentary on this WH.

Everybody else spends time defending their decisions and I don't think they should do that. Kerry should just say "yeah I voted for that war, but I shouldn't have, because the intel was bad and I never wanted the US to go it alone". That would do it imho.

Edwards beats around the Bush (sic) with things like, "due to the approach of this administration we cannot get our allies support in Iraq". You have to listen too hard to what he is saying to get it. Otoh Dean says "this white house lied to the world and P!ssed off our allies and now we are stuck". That is the way it needs to be said. Edwards thinks if he does that, he won't sound presidential or he will undermine his prior stance or something, in my view that is the wrong positioning. Gephardt only caught national attention when he called Bush a failure.

Michael Moore sent out an email this weekend where he talked about sales for his "Dude where's my country" book going through the roof. On the other hand Zell Miller's "a national party no more" (basically a right wing slam on dems) which received all kinds of pumping at Fox can't even hold the top 20 for a week. This is just an anecdotal comment but all these thing add up.
