ACTISYN From SPORTPHARMA Last month I reviewed a new product put out by SportPharma called Actisyn. I went on record stating that I was skeptical about SportPharma’s claim that Actisyn increases protein synthesis in the body 640% better than ion-exchange whey protein. It appears my hunch that the advertising surrounding Actisyn was misleading and primarily “hype” has been substantiated.
I have a document dated May 6, 1999 that states, “the United States District Court for the Southern District of California found that SportPharma USA published false and misleading claims in advertising and product labeling for its new supplement product, Actisyn.” Judge Napoleon A. Jones Jr. has ordered SportPharma to recall all “Actisyn” products and promotional material containing statements that the court found to be false or misleading. He also ordered Sportpharma to pay Next Nutrition (the makers of Designer Protein) a $50,000 damage award for “making disparaging representations” of Designer Protein.
In light of this ruling anyone who purchased Actisyn from my store may return the remaining portions or the empty can for FULL CREDIT. Not to say I told you so, but I knew those claims were a little far fetched when I first read them. Needless to say all SportPharma products carried in my store will undergo thorough testing and the results will be posted in upcoming newsletters.
