The wife and kids have asked to go away (on short notice obviously) over Christmas and want a nice warm Caribbean Island.

Commercial Jet access is a must. Help is appreciated.

Well... it is not quite the Caribbean, but it may be better...

I do not know what makes you tick... but there may be at least one thing here that may tickle your fancy...

experienceloscabos.com

There is golf, fishing, eco-turism, and a couple of towns that may attract you, one of them is an obscure(er) one, yet with its own claim to fame that I did not know...

After a couple of personal treks throughout the peninsula, I have yet to visit the more "luxurious" part of it, (This does not mean it is NOT my style), which I may add, I prefer, but in the past the slightly rugged version --provided there was something worth to see-- I was never shy to do.

Food, provided you know where to look (locally), is superb, as good as any of the best places on earth. The dessert in Baja is one of the most unique places and combined with the sea of Cortéz and/or the pacific is simply out of this world. The best of it is that there is very little potable water in the peninsula, therefore possible development is greatly limited, more so than a million laws imposed on the land.

If you are into golf, there are a couple of websites here that will give you some food for thought:

golfvisitloscabos.org
golfvisitloscabos.org

In this last one, it lists 8 golf courses, some of them the resorts have little to ask to any four seasons anywhere in the world.

Then you can take your pick out of 16 hotels here...

hotelsvisitloscabos.org

The above websites seem extensive and informative. next best step is probably pick up the phone and call....

Just a suggestion...

Other ideas:

Here is another of more permanent character.... this is more of a long-term idea... (i.e. for future vacations)

exclusiveresortsllc.com

and another one....

There are 10 resorts here more in the "secluded category" ....

askmen.com

(one of them is in Florida)

a couple in the Caribbean, a couple in Africa, one in Vanuatu (south Pacific)

Plus the last page gives you over 10 or more alternatives for further research.

That should keep you busy for a while...
