These are approximately 10 minute long cartoons in a half hour format. There were 36 episodes in the 1967 series and it originally aired on CBS and was a Hanna-Barbera Production. The Herculoids premiered on September 9, 1967. This is one of the best cartoons to come out of the Hanna-Barbera Studios during the 60s and 70s and it is close in story direction and content to Jonny Quest, It had major Sci-Fi storylines and its only downfall is that they were done as 10 minute cartoons. This cartoon has a cast of eight characters. Zandar, protector of the planet Quasar; his wife Tara; Dorno his son; and five denizens of the planet called the Herculoids. They are Igoo the rock ape, Tundro the the eight legged rhinotriceritops, Zok the dragon, who has lasers emit from his eyes and tail, and last (but no way least) two Protoplastic creatures named Gloop and Gleep.
