I ma not sure if the recent bombings in SA was a case of mistaken identity. The residential complexes that were blown up were primarily occupied by Americans some two to three years ago.

Seeing that those affected were SA citizens, primarily Muslims, it would be interesting to see if this would considerably affect the Arab/Muslim stand against the Al-Qaeda. Thus far, Al-Qaeda has been successful in attracting its membership based on Islam faith, however slanted their faith may be. But there is a predominant theme in the Islamic faith, and that is "Muslims don't kill Muslims". It was that cry which alienated Saddam when he attacked "his Muslim folks in Kuwait". Interesting to see if that would still prevail with Al-Qaeda after the recent SA bombings.
