OK Nadine, I am at least a little confused here. Are you saying that there are one million Arabs who, if they are above the age of majority, can vote in Israeli elections?

Yup. Sure they vote for Arabs; Hadash is an Arab party. Sometimes they vote for Jews too, as I said, the Arab vote put Barak into office. Most of them can't vote because they're not old enough. This last election, it was plain that Sharon would win, so most of the Arabs were pretty discouraged and either voted for one of the Arab parties or nobody.

If so, why would they not vote for an Arab to lead Israel????

They do. But they don't have the votes to win the election. That's like asking why African-Americans don't vote for Sharpton for President. Some may; but they don't have enough votes to put him in office.

Ironically, Israel is the only place in the Mideast where Arabs can vote regularly in meaningful free elections.
