Hmm, it was the vietnamese who finally put down Pol Pot, wasn't it .... before or after they had a war with Commie Red China, can't recall

They're talking about the term 'patriot' over there .... it's always amusing for canadians with loyalist roots to hear US nationals characterise one faction, and one faction only, of the 1770s troubles in the thirteen colonies as 'patriots' ... their victims being presumably 'unpatriotic' - in a civil war ... hmm, how do they figure

So anyway, CBC radio has on right now a piece on the meal the great chef Escoffier made on 11 Nov 1918, on short notice because 712 guests reserved tables on hearing of the armistice, and with little food on hand because wartime rationing was in full effect .... so, i start googling around on this, and look what i found, this says Nguyen the Patriot worked in the man's kitchen - time.com

Escoffier - geocities.com
... no mention of this famous meal
