Remember when you were harping on Darrell Issa for starting the whole recall drive in California? How you lamented how he was able to spend millions to get the signatures necessary for a recall? What's the difference between Issa and Soros, besides the fact that Soros isn't running for office himself? Both are cases of rich guys who spend (proportionally) tons of money to further their own political agenda or vision. Is that so wrong?

While there are some similarities, I see some strong differences. First and foremost, Issa is a wuss with a questionable character. Soros has always been a stand up guy.

Secondly, Issa was spending his millions and acting the spoiler in order to set himself up as governor of CA. Soros has no intention of running for office.

Thirdly, Issa used his millions to activate a rarely used political instrument for the wrong reasons. The recall was intended primarily to recall incompetent and/or corrupt governors, and not one you didn't particularly like. Plus, the recall was going nowhere until Issa's millions came into play. In the meantime, Soros is using the normal campaign process to try and make a difference.

So in response to your question, again I see considerable difference between the two.
