I dont recall Bush ever saying this would be an easy task. I still find it hard to understand why everyone is expecting this to all be over by now. We knew going in we had 3 distinct groups that dont get along with one another that well to begin with. No where that I can ever recall has something like this been done without YEARS of effort and that is what I EXPECTED going in. Still, I was and am for it, as a bastion of Democracy in the heart of the Middle East would IMHO END once and for all TERRORISM from Islamics. I dont like to lose American lifes anymore then the next American, but I think THIS fight means more to us then say Vietnam ever did. If I were to criticise the American leaders I would complain about disbanding the entire Iraqi Army right away. I think that may have been a major mistake that set us back a year or so. On the other hand, I truly believe we have the best minds in our military and political system giving this their best effort so I have to trust THEM to do the right thing. As to Bush, IMHO he is the LEAST LIKELY to do something for political purposes of anyone in our govt today. jdn
