I think we are as unlikable as the French- perhaps more so, if you ask citizens in say, Malaysia, or almost anywhere in Europe, where they see the US as one of the biggest threats to peace in the world. The French are not all that arrogant, not compared to the US- but since we live here, and most of the people here assume the US is right, we don't see just how unlikable we are. No one likes a big bully- even one that claims to be bringing democracy.
