Its a joke..........it costs a minimum of $65 million to run for president and we say we're a democracy.

If much less was spent then in many ways we would be less of a democracy communicating to tens of millions of voters cost money. It costs even more if your trying to unseat an entrenched incumbent. Limit spending or limit the available money and the incumbents have it too easy. They have a high reelection rate as it is but if people can't raise and spend enough to get their message out then in most cases the incumbent will be a lock.
