Darfot, the obituary list in the real estate industry might just be one of the least-known facts about the whole business.

I'm not particularly afraid of people or my personal safety, but I had one encounter with someone who commented on what I thought was a discreetly-held personal alarm system (meaning he knew as much as I did about what that little thing which looked like a simple pager actually would do--I thought he and I were there to look at the house, not at anything I was carrying), and I've been asked some very strange questions by some very strange people on occasion.

And there's no question that concerned real estate brokers train their agents in what to look for and how to deal with suspicious situations. It might not always work.
