[CG and correction on C6X]

j --

I've not heard any updates on CG other than being told Amati isn't relying on it for deployment. They'll use C6X for both ends until CG does come out.

I was wrong on the C6X dates posted earlier. Amati is developing its own analog end (exclusive) in conjunction with a small company in the valley. TI's digital portion will be released on Oct. 9, then the two ends get put together --- don't ask me how or by whom --- with commercial availability after that --- timing, of course, depends on what shape it's in.

In my opinion, CG isn't the fulcrum on which Amati's strength rests.

BTW, the GTE/WSTL contract doesn't impact Amati at all. The government part of GTE is completely unrelated to the ILEC and CLEC segments. And as I understand it, ADSL deployment will fall under CLEC.

Regards,

Pat
