From 1998-2000 I posted on the GTW board that the books were being cooked.
A Member of the GTW thread, a one Skeeter Bug, to be exact, called me a vicious evil naked shorter or words to that effect. I got into Gateway because I and my people had purchased ALR at 10. ALR had the first successful MARKETABLE and USABLE what is now called a six-way chip set (for multiple processors).
GTW purchased ALR for 15 bucks a share, and boy was I pissed because alr was going to 90.
So I figured, what the hey, I rolled into Gateway as the successor of the technology.
But, Gateway BURIED the chip, like they didn't understand what it was for, the banks representatives on the board thought it would be a great idea to go from cows, to "Talk to me Elmers".
Ted Waite moved to California, sold 12 Million shares, about half his holdings, and somebody borrowed a shitload of what appeared to me to be off balance sheet money.

Stock was at about 30-60, I, and Ted, dumped.
