You might recall that the aggressive majority of Repuglicans in the State Lege decided that is would be a swell idea to use the Homeland Security Gestapo to round up political rivals as they mugged the state in an effort to blatantly defy democracy by redistricting the State for a second time since the 2000 census. You do recall the incident right? Hell, they could have taken this act straight out of Lavrenti Beria's NKVD playbook from Stalinist Russia. Its just at the same level of totalitarian disregard for democratic process as both Russia and Germany endured during the 1930s. ***** You seem to be incapable of comprehending this, so I'll try it again. The essence of democracy is respect for the rights of minorities**. OK? Got that. What the Republicans are doing today is using a series of reprehensible legal maneuvers to defy democracy and consolidate power in the hands of an unaccountable elite. This is nothing short of being totally un-American and anti-democratic. What is it about this travesty that you don't get?
