As I've said many times before, I think Intel's 64-bit desktop strategy is to implement 64-bit data extensions but not 64-bit addressing extensions in their chips. They will claim that no one needs the 64-bit addressing until the end of the decade and continue pushing Itanium for those that do need Gigs of memory. Petz
