Logic isn't your strong suite. The problem is the excess breeding rate, which in turn exacerbates the economic dislocations.

Without excess breeding, there would be no deficits. And, of course, little need for new classrooms.

Humanity, especially folks who aren't well educated or who don't come from a culture that cares about such things, don't seem cognizant of the fact that the human population is exceeding the rational and comfortable carrying capacity of this planet.

Already, every intelligent futurist is planning on a century of wars, strife and economic dislocation. As a species, are we sane? Is this the best we can do? If we follow the Bush model of American Empire, we will be recreating the awful feudal inequality that was so dominant throughout the Middle Ages in Europe, and probably never really ended in most of the Third World. Is this the happy future humanity should be seeking? It seems like a crazy world to me. An insane asylum and a prison combined.

Chatter about technology notwithstanding. Who of us on this thread doesn't feel more threatened by the imminent police state administered by a malevolent U.S. military today than they did in 2000? You know it is their plan, to overrun the planet and subjugate it. You know this scheme is evil. What can we do to prevent Rumsfeld's dream from becoming humanity's nightmare?
