elmat,
Re: You, apparently, missed our discussion about population peaking.
Apparently so. I was paying attention to the discussion about peak oil. Which is occurring just about now. Too bad for all the Hummer owners in the U.S. and whatever the flavor of the day is in China. Fueling vehicles is likely to become a very expensive proposition within the next 10 years. Something about that darned old supply and demand thingy.
But as long as the human population and expectations continue to expand while energy supplies run down, no problem, right? Don't worry, be happy? Right?
Re: I don't feel threated by a malevolent state, if it is like the US.
You are among the lucky foreigners who probably don't own an exploitable resource that U.S. corporations would send the military out to confiscate. Brazil, en toto, is probably immune to the depradations of the U.S. because of your population. The same cannot be said of Venezuela, Columbia, Ecuador and Bolivia which will come increasingly under the gun of U.S. expeditionary forces protecting the interests of U.S. energy companies. Same for Iran, Saudi Arabia and the Stans. They're all in the crosshairs for U.S. military occupation and oil company exploitation.
Re: Put a few soldiers in sandals and eating only rice and they get their clocks cleaned.
Exactly. Better to eat falafel, hummus and lamb kebabs and then take up the improvised explosive devices after dark in the desert.
Re: You read too much of the Club of Home
That's news to me. What the heck is "Club of Home"? I'm clueless. Never heard of it.
Re: Look I've got only one kid, I prefer quality rather than quatity.
Well, all I know is she's got at least one wonderful parent.
Re: After all the US has 13 Trillion USD economy with that school system.
Don't bullsh!t me. It's only 11 Trillion. And much of that is "hedonic" smoke and mirrors.
