I don't think Bush was the right man for the job here. Bush should have put more effort into forming a true coalition force, it certainly would have eased the burden on the U.S. However, at the moment, I do believe a strong U.S. presence in the region is a good thing. It has tempered Iran's response to its demonstrating students. Syria now has to give more thought to the way it helps terrorists/freedom fighters. When Osama and gang overthrow the Saudi kingdom, the U.S. will be there to help maintain stability in the region. Maybe, Iraq will emerge as a decent society.

Perhaps, but I don't agree. OBL wanted the U.S. to act impulsively after 911, but it didn't. An impulse-military move by the U.S. definitely would have garnered muslim support behind OBL.
