Since the LinkSys router has a built-in firewall, I don't see any need to run a firewall on your PCs. You are already protected from the Internet.

Your Linksys router is set up to do NAT, or Network Address Translation. Your PCs are configured with "private" IP address. The router translates these to your public Internet address. It will translate replies to outbound connections back to the private addresses.

Nobody can get into your network from the Internet. The addresses on your network simply are not accessible. If you DID want to allow access, you would have to do some configuration on the router to set up a translation for a specific port number on your public Internet address to route the incoming traffic to a specific PC on your network.

Otherwise, inbound traffic is just dropped by the router. (Unless it is a reply to outbound traffic originating on your network.)

There is no need, then, to run firewall software on your PCs.
