Howard - Quick question that perhaps you can shed some light on. I installed the Linksys 802.11G router a couple weeks back along with cable broadband service... Works great, but my question is about security. I think I've done all the right things, but I wonder if it is enough. I've enabled 128 bit WEP encryption, disabled SSID broadcast, changed all the passwords, etc. I read that WEP is okay, but WPA is better, although I also thought that I read somewhere that WPA is supported on XP machines only, and I run a combination of WIN2K (via ethernet from the back of the router) and a couple of XP desktops via wireless... Anyway, your comment on the SPI firewall caught my eye, I suppose that is what I got by default. About the only thing I have not done yet is MAC address filtering... I know XP has a firewall feature that you can turn on in addition to all this, but I have not bothered. Am I doing well enough or is more in order?
