re: School vouchers.

Do we really want tax dollars supporting Fundamental Islamic & Christian curriculums in the US?

Our somewhat secular educational system may be failing in some respects, making vouchers for charter schools sounds attractive on the surface. But perhaps more thought & debate about wider implications of public funding should take place.

It reminds me a bit of the late night tv ad's for scooters of all sorts, financed by Medicare. Not so many years ago, people lived with reduced mobility. High Medicare reimbursement rates for cardiac procedures spurs the construction of new high profile cardiac hospitals & specialized wings. Now, perhaps a new prescription drug program.

Seems if you create a govt funding source, it's only natural people are going to get creative in tapping that, much like people tap maple trees for yummy syrup.
