What I was trying to touch on was the lack of dissent in America. So a player like Soros - rich and independent - warts and all- is a voice against the dreadful turn of events in the last year or two. I'm assuming, probably wrongly, that Soros is a Jew - so I think that his criticism is all the more interesting in light of the lockstep policy of Bush and Sahron. That's why I found Norman Mailer's book 'Why are we at war' (written before the war BTW) so interesting/heartening.

But the fear of dissent is evaporating by the day now in America - and within Israel - with opposition to Sahron mounting everywhere and significantly in the military and in the security services. And IMO the outing of Mrs. Wilson by the White House is something that the Admisinstration will pay for dearly - since intelligence information was so perverted by the Bushies. Things are a changing and fast - and even the lilly livered Dems. are getting up a little courage.
