That's about the most naive thing I've ever heard. Did you realize money has been diverted from life sciences research to pay for the huge homeland defense bureaucracy? When one considers how few people have been tragically killed by terrorists throughout history versus the impact of any typical medical advancement and how many many lives are saved, e.g. the eradication of smallpox, antibiotics, vaccines, etc etc etc... One new drug or vaccine could save millions of lives.

The priorities of the Bush administration reflect his low intellect and the fact that he's surrounded himself who people that have no positive vision for the future of mankind. The Bush administration makes it clear that the US is an empire in decline. Invest in China and developing Asia as the future lies there.
