Uncle,
I think that al quaeda has stayed quiet in the US is that they learned their lesson(for the time being) on 9/11 about awakening a sleeping giant. Now that many on the left seem to be asleep again, why awake them or unite us by striking in the US. It is easier to hit innocents elsewhere whether at synagogue today in turkey or at home asleep in Saudi Arabia or even the Red Cross in Baghdad.
The news stories that Ghost just printed about change for the better in morocco, afghanistan, tunisia give me some hope. Believe that there was an article in the NY Times today about Saudi Arabia taking up arms against al quaeda in serious fashion like egypt and algeria did with their extremists. And perhaps a pan-islamist army can help go after al quaeda in islamic areas in the future. Iraqification for Iraq and justice at the hands of fellow-moslems for bin laden and his not so merry band of thugs and miscreants. Mike
