I just read a pretty scathing article about Clark's stumbles out of the starting gate.

I won't bore you with all of it, but there was one statistic that was telling.

Clark's MeetUp monthly meeting totals have declined from 345 to 205 since the day he declared his candidacy! OTOH, Howard Dean's MeetUp locations now have moved up to 818.

Clark may have lost the Internet election already.

And his absence at the Jefferson Jackson Dinner in Des Moines tonight seemed quite apparent. I can understand Al Sharpton passing on the chance to appear there, but most pundits suggest, and I agree that Clark really shot himself in the foot by not staying in the Iowa campaign.

Furthermore, there is a chance that Clark will alienate the New Hampshire voters by failing to attend a debate in that state in December because he has been scheduled for a fund raiser in New York.
