The hijacking is quite simple and doesn't require any hacking. Just a little persistence.

Both hijacked accounts had passwords that matched their loginID's. And common words, at that.

This happened before on a much larger scale and as a result, there are far fewer accounts available for that kind of hijacking anymore.
