Socrates primarily attacked the Sophists because they thought they knew something when in point of fact they knew Nothing. You should realize that Socrates was considered the wisest man in Ancient Greece because he knew that he knew Nothing while everyone else thought they knew Something while in point of fact they knew Nothing. Socrates demonstrated in dialogue with the Sophists that they knew nothing. This is one of the reasons why he was killed. To put it in another way, so most here on this thread can identify better, Socrates thought the Sophists were a bunch of arrogant pompous Fuc*in As*hol*s. But that doesn't mean that the philosophy of Socrates (in terms of content) was all that different in spirit from some of the Sophists. Socrates had a lot of respect for Protagoras. Don't group all the Sophists in the same category and become an abstraction.

Socrates would have a field day with the dogmatic principles of Christianity. Whether or not you agree or disagree is irrelevant to me. I'm talking about concepts and critical thinking, Tommaso, something that you are seriously lacking IMO.

A Free Independent Critical Creative Humanistic Thinker don't give 2 Friggin Sh*ts what President Bush or the US Government orders. He or She invests in what he or she considers to be True or of Great Value Moving Forward and Maintains that Position based on the Autonomy of Free Independent Thought.
