Building a Shuttle Small Form Factor Computer

If anyone is contemplating building a new computer I can recommend the Shuttle XPC.

us.shuttle.com

Just finished building a P4 3.0 Ghz
started with 512 mb RAM
Motherboard came with Intel Extreme Graphics
DVD Rom and 4-in-1 card reader

Added Maxtor 250Gb HDD
and a Plextor CD/RW replacing the DVD Rom that came with the system.

system has Serial ATA
Dual IDE
PCI slot
AGP slot

This will be my primary trading station but is also designed with gaming and home entertainment in mind with a lot of connectivity options

Currently running XP but partitioned the disk to preserve 50GB for loading Linux so I can have a dual boot system.

Using my legacy SGI 1600sw LCD but preparing for addition of a dual monitor setup driven by a Matrox Parhelia

Perhaps mot people don't care but this is an elegant design.

One other item is there are just three thumbscrews to take off to access the internals. Nice and simple
