The upward trend had been expected to continue despite signs of recovery in the economy and as effects still linger from the consumer spending binge of the 1990s. The rate of bankruptcies generally lags other economic indicators. William: The lower interest rates have been an enticing lure to get people to charge more items on credit... We'll have to see if an improving economy with increasing job creation reverses the bankruptcy tide... Jim
