That presumes that everyone (or a majority of people )would take drugs, even though they are not taking them now. Do you presume that? Our whole society did not slide into a huge alcoholic stupor with the repeal of prohibition- I doubt the repeal of drug laws, which do not seem to be working anyway, would lead to anything as catastrophic as you suggest.

When the system one is using isn't working, it is time to try something else. If you would like to discuss it, I would love to. If you are only interested in one liners, I can't see the point. The discussion of legalizing drugs, per se, doesn't belong here- but the discussion of legalization or decriminalization as a way of taking money out of the hands of criminals and terrorists, IS a foreign relations issue, imo. I certainly don't think the option should be discarded without some careful thought.
