Re: For some reason I get annoyed with history being re -written all the time.

Rewriting history is a hallmark of fascist regimes. What quite scary is to see the rate at which previously available materials are being removed from the Internet by our government. And, of course, the White House is getting into the act. It regularly scrubs its Website in order to remove embarrassing information such as its announcement that hostilities had ended in Iraq as of May 1. Now it say "major hostilities" have been ended. Expect another revision soon. It would be too funny to see a hacker crack the site and install a "Quagmire Accomplished" page. <g>

Another worrying development is hacker attacks on sites such as The Memory Hole. Asking the usual cui bono? question about motivation, why would pimple-faced 14 year old warez kidz have an interest in taking that site down? None, in comparison with the fine folks at the secret sections of the government who are seeing the government being embarrassed by the ongoing revelations and archives at the Memory Hole.
