In October AO MOSENERGO generated less heat and electricity

In October 2003, AO MOSENERGO generated 6,875.5 mn kWt-h of electricity which is 0.6% less than at the same period last year. The Company generated 6,203,700 Gcal. This is 14% less than at the same period last year.

To satisfy the growing power consumption in the region, AO MOSENERGO had to purchase electricity last month from other regions while observing the economic interests of the Moscow power system. In total, the Company purchased in the wholesale market (FOREM ) 122.3 mn kWt-h.

The fall in electricity and heat generation was caused by technical requirements of RAO UES and a warm autumn. Thus, the average air temperature in October was 3.1 degrees higher than last year and reached 5 degrees Centigrade.
