You obviously did not read my post. You say that I scandalize the sins of the past, but in the same breath you want to beat up Senator Byrd for something that he did in his youth.

This at the same time that you say that Dubya's drinking and drug use was in his past, but that's ok.

I didn't start this discussion on discrimination. I was responding to some neocon posting about the dems being racist. That is pure bull and we all know it. And worse because it is the stove calling the kettle black. Lott was knocked off the party leadership under this administration. The ink is barely dry on the newspaper announcing it, and you want to talk about what Byrd did 50 years ago? Talk about sick and wrong.

I will say that this country has come a long ways. It has been led by the democrats out of the darkness. And for the conservatives to try and hijack the good work done by democrats is nuts.

My personal experience with conservatives has given me insight into the conservative mind. They are the more narrow in their thinking on race. I think you know this in your heart to be true, though you will never admit it here. You don't have to because the racists know who they are and the liberals know who the racists are too. The compassionate conservatives, of which you claim to be one of, are making progress. Congratulations.
