what the heck are you talking about. Protectionism is not equal to capitalism. The current system is protectionism, this new drug plan is protectionism. There is no free market cost driver whatsoever. Republicans are all for free markets until something affects them or their lifestyle. Paying 100K/year for some drug which can be obtained in Canada for one tenth the price makes no sense. I suggest some of the republicans here go read a book on what FREE MARKET CAPITALISM really is. Hint: it is not what Bush practices, a gimme gimme for corporate america and his cronies. If Merck cannot compete with itself or competitors elsewhere in the world it should be put out of business.
