There are a handful drug related R&D institutions, pharmaceuticals, microbiology and biotech labs in India that are poised to a breakout (Indian Software Industry success will be considered a thing of past). If that happens, they will be offering drugs at a substantially (read dramatically) lower prices throughout the world in not so distant future. That will knock wind of the sails of legislation being passed to support corporate cronyism in favor of pharma giants.
