Yes, Calandra's seeming lack of objectivity may prove toxic
to the wealth of many in his flock. It's been easy to say "buy" gold stocks until recently. TC's tone doesn't inspire confidence that he'll be so willing to say "sell" in time. Plus, when the self-fulfilling prophecy herd starts to thunder out of a Canadian junior (TC's paid subscribers first, of course), the "free"-riding part of the herd will see why Marketwatch is too visible for a sell signal if you're depending on someone to tell you when.

My favorite of many TC howlers came a few essays ago, when TC talked up palladium as undervalued and singled out opportunities in properties with PGM counts low on platinum (that $750+/oz. stuff that just gets in the way of a good palladium mine!). I didn't read what would happen to pd. if auto sales hit the skids; maybe "matte" finish jewelry? TC's tone suggests he's got something to prove. I guess he hasn't gotten enough respect as a financial journalist. No wondering why; we can just read him.

I'm not complaining though. I just need him to follow up today's mention of NSU with a raving pump when the next set of results is published. Before then I'm counting upon him to say that SGC is the second coming of Ivanhoe Mines, what with those rich copper intercepts and the allure of gold.
