MRV's LX-4000S Series of Remote Console Servers Obtains Solaris(R) Ready Certification From Sun Microsystems

PHOENIX, Supercomputing 2003, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MRV Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: MRVC - News), a leading provider of unlimited connectivity solutions for mission critical networks, today announced it has been certified Solaris® Ready by Sun Microsystems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SUNW - News) for MRV's InReach LX-4000S Series of secure remote console servers. Achieving Solaris Ready Certification signifies that the MRV InReach LX-4000S Series has passed Sun's requirements and testing criteria for reliability, integration and ease-of-installation into the Solaris(TM) Operating System(OS).
To receive the certification, products must complete a rigorous testing process conducted by KeyLabs, Inc, an independent testing laboratory, and meet specific standards for ease-of-installation, Solaris OS compliance, management, product documentation and network operability. The Solaris Ready logo allows customers to readily identify those products that have met the stringent standards set forth by Sun.

Sun's customers will also benefit from interoperability between MRV's LX4048 and the Solaris OS, easy installation and configuration, software products and components that are compatible and consistent with Sun's graphical user interface (GUI) software, wide availability through distribution channels, availability of worldwide support provided by the vendor and verification testing by an independent testing laboratory. The benefits of this Solaris Ready verification program for end users and integrators are numerous and evident.
