I also believe in means testing SS. People with the means to pay for their own retirement (millionaires for sure) should not receive SS. If you had been paying the max into it the last years before you retired, out of your own pocket at double the employee rate, it might change your attitude. It's a Welfare program. More important, it is a "Ponzi" scheme. I never thought I would see a dime of it. But now that I am, I am glad to get it. "Means testing" is Politically impossible right now. It might happen by 2020. The easiest fix would be to gradually raise the eligibility age.
