It's not far from there right now if you exclude England, both France and Germany are at 9% or so aren't they?

I doubt a trade "victory" over our European allies will achieve any material or lasting benefit to the US.

China is a much different problem. They can actually sustain a much greater price due to having a generally lower standard of living .. but can the US populace handle the shock if they (our gov) manage this situation as well as they have managed our political agendas?

Seems like there is only a few good places to be situated .. to be an elite where all you care about it relative wealth (which unfortunately is a club not taking applications for entry) or buy gold.

Tough world .. half measures seem destined to fail .. hard choices won't be agreed to .. hard to say which is worse .. holding debt from a deadbeat or owing your country's treasure to the rest of the world
