That's the naive propaganda that the elites want you to believe. I'm surprised you'd mouth this urban legend. You've argued the opposite quite articulately here on SI in the past.

The actual fact is that open markets very ruthlessly create winners and losers. You, in fact, have made note of this in your own industry. Open markets are creating loses in Silicon Valley as software engineering jobs are exported to India, Russia and elsewhere. What was a $100,000 position is being done for $20,000 in India, $12,000 in Russia and who knows where this race to the bottom leads us. One thing is certain. Open markets have destroyed the $100,000 jobs in Silicon Valley, most of them gone permanently.
