<<Sure we have our differences, but given that the Chinese are pegging their currency to our dollar, and NOW finally agreeing to purchase billions in US goods to decrease the trade surplus, we might have a relationship that functions for the near term. (not that I discount the latent threat a Fascist China could present in the future).>>
yeah the development of China could portend a very unexpected future .. and "functions for the near term" isn't the most reassuring description or evaluation ..
Chinese society is self-sustaining with little interest in emulating the West .. it is a colossus with it's own culture, music industry, arts, etc. which isn't in any competition with America .. Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, etc., etc. all tied in a relatively homogenous environment .. this giant is only growing more powerful .. they manufacture everything .. they sneeze in the US direction and US assets are going to feel the breeze |
