It's interesting that ex-Briton Hitchens, who's quoted here as a staunch Bush supporter, has moved himself from Socialism to a Nationalism so rigid that he declares last night that protesters who disagree with policy are classified as mortal enemies.

In support of that theory he cites signs they carry as being seen in an earlier protest, somehow implying they must be part of a dark and dangerous conspiracy, in league with terrorists.

There's a disturbing historic parallel here. Something about "National Socialists" ...
