What a farce that article is, particularly the headline chosen. Talk about your basic lies! The Pentagon did NOT at all debunk the report on Osama-Saddam ties. The Pentagon acknowledged the Raw Reports are the real deal, even according to your article brandishing the headline indicating otherwise(a true lie). The Pentagon debunked only the notion that IT had taken action to release or confirm the "new information with respect to contacts between al-Qaida and Iraq." Instead, was leaked by others(and this fact lone corrects the only innaccuracy noted by the Pentagon).

Of course, the article offers not a word from the Pentagon nor anyone which debunks the raw reports themselves, nor even which pretends to. Given the effective CONFIRMATION that the raw reports are in fact the real intelligence informamtion as provided to the Senate Intelligence Committee, conclusions by others now reading them are fairly drawn, and fairly reported.

No one has lost face by reporting on the information in the "raw reports" unless they claimed the Pentagon released them purposefully to the public along with a confirming conclusion(the Pentagon did neither).

Seth Porges, who wrote your posted article, certainly has egg on HIS face, since his headline indicates the ties between Osama and Saddam detailed in the raw reports have been debunked by the Pentagon. The "raw reports" telling of such linkage were instead confirmed as being the genuine article by the Pentagon statement of Saturday which the author refers to as his only basis in making his claim.
