Invading Iraq was and is all about controlling the region's oil. This all has to do with who will benefit financially from the world's remaining oil. Read Hubbert's Peak, and learn why the Texas Oil Mafia has so much influence on energy policy. There ain't that much oil left in the ground, most of the "cheap" oil is already gone. What remains is mostly in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, China (one large field) and Russia. America was built on cheap energy.
