we had many-many troops there

We had Marine guards in our embassy as we do everywhere else in the world where we have diplomatic relations and we had small numbers of personnel at locations outside, guarding other US property and citizens, again as we do around the world today. Are we engaged in war in London, Berlin, Tokyo, Beijing and Brasilia? None of our personnel in Vietnam after January 1972 were engaged in the defense or support of South Vietnam in it's war with the VC and the north. That is a fact.

They were dying in droves right uip to that point.

Repeating a lie again and again doesn't make it true, much as you seem to think it does.

You want the facts? Two - yes, two - Marines died in the fall of Saigon in 1975 (April, BTW, not May). They died guarding a US Defense Attaché building at Than Son Nut Airport when it was attacked by the NVA. Many more than that died trying to rescue US personnel after the Iranian Revolution - was the US at war then, too?

So, are you going to argue now that two is a "drove" or will you finally admit you are dead wrong on this?
