Gazprom admits owning stake in Mosenergo

Gazprom owns a stake in the Moscow energy grid Mosenergo, Ivan Zolotov, the head of the gas holding's international affairs department, reported. He did not specify the size of this stake. Earlier, some mass media sources reported that Renaissance Capital was representing Gazprom on the Mosenergo board, and the gas giant did not confirm this information. Among other owners of Mosenergo are RAO UES of Russia (a 50.9-percent stake), the government of Moscow jointly with the Bank of Moscow (an 8-percent stake), Guta Bank (a 4-percent stake) and others. In addition, 9 percent of Mosenergo shares are circulated as ADRs (American Depositary Receipts). |
