An awareness that there is more to leadership and governance than cliches and grand themes. Makes me think - just an inference - that Clark is more of a results-oriented type.

My disappointment with the interview falls on both Rather and Clark. At the end, Rather asks if there is anything Clark wanted to cover that Rather hadn't asked. Rather had ignored a huge raft of issues I wanted to hear about; but Clark didn't jump in either with quick thoughts on jobs, healthcare, the environment, energy, etc.

As an ex-PR type myself, I know you NEVER pass up a free chance to state your themes on your terms in a media interview. It's the ultimate hanging curve ball. Clark needs to broaden his presentation in the next few months.

Maybe I am getting stupid to expect US elections to be more about issues than personalities and cliches. But if they aren't, I truly believe we are *&^%ed. The process is one or two collection letters away from bankruptcy.

JMHO.
